Sarah Boyle, your City Councilmember representing District 5 in Merced, is seeking re-election to continue serving her community.
A sense of community was instilled at a very young age, having been heavily involved with Girl Scouts and Lancers 4-H Group. Sarah's parents, Steve and Phyllis Boyle, were both raised on family farms and passed on to Sarah the important life lessons about hard work, giving back to the community, and self-determination. The Boyle family remains active in supporting various causes benefiting agriculture and youth.
Throughout her career, Sarah Boyle has been dedicated to serving Merced in various capacities. Her work in UC Merced's External Relations Department allows her to witness firsthand the university's impact on the community. Additionally, Sarah has contributed to the local real estate industry, where her passion for giving back extended to her role in assisting individuals in achieving the American Dream of homeownership while working as a marketing title rep and working for a local mortgage officer. In both positions, Sarah made a significant impact on the lives of others and furthered her commitment to serving her community.
Sarah's commitment to Merced extends to her involvement in city governance, having served on the City of Merced Charter Commission and completed Leadership Merced and American Leadership Forum programs. She believes in collaboration, service, hard work, and self-determination as fundamentals to Merced's growth. She also led and volunteered in various service activities, such as the Merced Chamber of Commerce and Merced Women Unite, and initiated "Helping One Woman: Merced" to provide support to women in need.
Her goal over the last few years was to ensure that Merced residents were represented with integrity and respect and that the City Council maintains high standards of government transparency and accountability. She aims to continue addressing issues like public safety, economic development, city beautification, and affordable housing to benefit all residents. With a vision for an even brighter future for Merced, Sarah humbly asks for the community's support and trust to continue moving the city forward.
